The U19 Boys A-side moved to 2-0 in the METNY U19 D1 league with a 20-0 win over Lehigh Valley U19s. The A-side controlled the ball for most of the match as Lehigh Valley defended valiantly. The U19 A got tries from Mike Sheehan, Joe Ondi, Kyle Markovitch, and Zack Bascio. In the B-side match, UCRFC was dominant as the Bs rang up a 27-0 win. Five players each scored a try- Willie Johnson, Brandon Deitz, Thomas Edwards, Jake Zimmerman, and Pete Ondi. Jake Rabedeau converted one try.
The UCRFC U15 and U19 teams were in action again on Sunday. The U19 boys A-side won by forfeit over Parsippany. Parsippany had problems with eligibility and could only field 10 players. The U19 A-side agreed to play 10 a-side and rang up a 44-0 win. The B-side played a D2 team, West Milford. The West Milford team played a very physical game and scored two tries off UCRFC mistakes. The "Bs" battled hard but could not finish off several excellent chances. The U19 girls traveled to East Hampton and absorbed a 22-0 loss to a more experienced side. The U15 boys continued their winning ways racking up a 56-10 win over the Parsippany U15s. This young team is improving with each outing as new players become more familiar with the game of rugby. In their win, Alex Hay and Peter Lovito each had a hat trick of tries. Brian Jung, Tim Strover, Brenton Harries, and Tom Ross each had a solo try. Michael Dabulas and Matt Weissglass added three conversion. This week the teams hit the road as the U19 boys go to Bethlehem to play Lehigh Valley U19s, the U19 girls are in Elizabeth to play Elizabeth High School, and the U15 and U13 boys head to Greenwich, CT to play Old Greenwich.
